Refine your profile. Restore balance. Breathe with ease.

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that can improve the shape and structure of the nose while also addressing breathing issues. It can also improve the size, address humps on the bridge, wide nostrils, a deviated septum, or an enlarged tip, and help you to achieve facial balance.

Dr. Barnett will consult with you to discuss your concerns and areas you would like to see improved, go over your medical history, and determine whether you are a good rhinoplasty candidate. He will be happy to answer all of your questions and explain the risks.

Open Rhinoplasty: A small incision is placed at the base of the nose and inside the nasal structure. This allows him to lift the skin of the nose to expose the bones and cartilage, giving the surgeon enhanced visualization. This will be performed under general anesthesia. It is an outpatient procedure, and you will return home the same day.

Recovery

You should plan for one week off from work or school to recover at home. A splint will be placed on the outside of your nose. All sutures and splints will be removed within one week of your post-op appointment.

Swelling and bruising can be significant in the first few days and may last for several months. Though much of the swelling will resolve within a month or two, it may take 12-18 months to reach your final results.
